Sci. I : Corporal, 55th Battn., A.I.F., Egypt and France. Enlisting 27th September, 1915, and sailing 23rd December, joined battn. in Egypt 16th February, 1916, and, crossing to France, served till death. Promoted corporal, 10th July, 1916. Killed in Action, Fleurbaix, 19th July, 1916. Commemorated in Fromelles Memorial. Early education at Dungog Public and East Maitland High Schools. Later at Teachers'' College.
