II. 15, and reached Egypt r2. 12. 15; Cpl. January 1916; attached R.E. as supervisor of native labour on construction of communication roads and railways E. of canal; to France January 1916; Sgt. after Fromelles July 1916; invalided to England with injured knee December 1916; rejoined Btn. and served as Platoon Sgt.
Shot through the head by a sniper at Polygon Wood 26th September 1917.
