Book of Remembrance entry

B.A. (Syd. et Oxon.) and Econ. : Corporal, 14th Machine Gun Coy., A.I.F., France. Enlisting 10th September, 1915, and sailing 20th December with 1st Battn. Reinforcements, joined company in Egypt in February, 1916, and, crossing to France, served until wounded at Fromelles, 19th July. Rejoining coy. after three months, remained with it until 28th July, 1917, when invalided to England. Granted Overseas Scholarship 18th January, 1918, prior to return for demobilisation. Early education at Emu Plains and Penrith Public and Fort St. High Schools. Later at Leigh College.
