B.A. : Lieutenant, 30th Battn., A.I.F., France. Enlisting 20th September, 1915, and sailing 9th November, went with battn. to Egypt and thence to France, serving at Fleurbaix, Somme, Hindenburg Line, Polygon Wood and elsewhere until demobilisation, though wounded at Foucaucourt. Promoted corporal, 1st October, 1916, and sergeant, 25th November; second-lieutenant, 2nd July, 1918, from Officers Training School, Cambridge, and lieutenant, 2nd October.
