13.2.15, A.A.M.C., Capt. attached 23rd Btn.; sailed 8.5.15. While dressing a wounded man on Gallipoli, on 29th November 1915, he was shot through the heart by a piece of shrapnel; there were twelve in the tent, and, though it was riddled, he was the only one hit.
