Book of Remembrance entry
Arts III : Lieutenant, 8oth Battery, R.F.A., B.E.F., France. Enlisting in England about July, 1915, was commissioned in Special Artillery Reserve 20th September and later posted to 80th Battery in France, where he was wounded. On recovery rejoined unit and served till death. Promoted lieutenant, 2nd May, 1916. Mentioned in Despatches. Killed in Action, Vimy Ridge, 23rd April, 1917, and buried in Lievin Communal Cemetery Extension, near Lens. Early education at Sydney Grammar School.
