Book of Remembrance entry

M.B., Ch.M., F.R.A.C.S. : Major, A.A.M.C., A.I.F., Egypt, Gallipoli, France and England. Enlisting in January, 1915, and sailing n th February, served with No. 1 Australian General Hospital, Heliopolis, from February to July and with 3rd Battn. in Gallipoli from August to December. Then joining 4th Australian Field Ambulance in Egypt, remained with it till February, 1916, in March transferred to 6th A.F.Amb. and, crossing with it to France, served till July, when injured and evacuated to hospital in England. On recovery was on light duties till April, 1917, and then rejoined Ambulance in France, serving till 8th October, when wounded at Westhoek, evacuated to hospital, and on recovery placed again on light duties. Crossing again to France, joined 14th A.F.Amb. in March, 1918, and served till August, though wounded in July at Daours, returning to Australia on transport duty in October. Early education at Sydney High School.
