M.C., M.B., Ch.M., F.R.A.C.S. : Captain, A.A.M.C., A.I.F., England, Gallipoli, Egypt and France. Enlisting in March, 1915, and sailing 15th May with No. 3 Australian General Hospital, to England and Lemnos, transferred to 3rd Australian Field Ambulance at Gallipoli about August, remaining with it until the Evacuation. On return to Egypt became R.M.O. 11th Battn. in January and, crossing to France, served at Pozieres and the Somme until evacuated to hospital in December, 1916, returning to Australia in July, 1917. Awarded M.C. 1st January, 1917, for work at Pozieres, and Mentioned in Despatches. University Medallist. Hon. Demonstrator in Anatomy. Early education at Sydney Grammar School,
