Book of Remembrance entry
B.E. : Sapper, 4th Field Coy., Engineers, A.I.F., France; also Assistant Commissioner, Australian Comforts Fund, Egypt, Gallipoli and France. Sailing as first Assistant Commissioner 2nd November, 1915, worked at Lemnos and in Egypt and, crossing to France with 1st Divisional Train, went to the Front Line. Joining A.I.F. in London in June, 1917, served at Ypres, Messines and the Somme, and was demobilised in London in 1919, returning privately via U.S.A. Early education at Cleveland St. Superior Public School. Later at St. Paul's College.
