O.B.E., M.B. : Major, A.A.M.C., A.I.F., and R.A.M.C., B.E.F., France; also R.A.N. Enlisting in August, 1914, served on naval hospital ship "Grantala "as civil surgeon till December. Re-Enlisting 9th March, 1915, as lieutenant R.A.M.C., was R.M.O. 2nd Battn., The Royal Scots, from March, 1915, to March, 1916. Re-Enlisting in A.I.F. in May and sailing in June, served at No. 1 Australian General Hospital Rouen, and with 5th and 6th Australian Field Ambulances in 1917, R.M.O. 4th Field Artillery Brigade in 1918 and Registrar (temporary Major) No. 3 A.G. Hospital, Abbeville, from 28th February, 1919, until demobilisation. Early education at Sydney Grammar School.
