Ormond; M.B., B.S.; a prominent Univ. footballer, double blue (football and athletics). 22.9.15, A.A.M.C., Capt., attached to No. 5 A.G.H., Melbourne; sailed 1.8.16; to 3rd A.G.H., Boulogne, 3.10.16; later in October to 15th Fld. Amb.; M.O. 56th Btn. December 1916. Killed in action at the age of 32 during the heavy fighting at Polygon Wood on 25th September 1917, just before news came of the award of M.C. for his work in the Somme area.
