Book of Remembrance entry
M.B., Ch.M. : Corporal, 17th Battn. A.I.F., France. Enlisting 16th June, 1915, and sailing 8th March, 1916, arrived in France 9th September, joined battn. at Flers 3rd November and was invalided to England on 16th. Transferring to 6th Division, was returned on its disbanding to 17th Battn. in November, 1917, remaining with it till gassed at Wiencourt 3rd October, 1918, and invalided to Australia, arriving n th February, 1919. Early education at Sydney Church of England Grammar School.
