Book of Remembrance entry

Med. I : Lieutenant, 14th and 60th and 5 M.G. Battns., A.I.F., Gallipoli and France. Enlisting 24th September, 1914, and sailing 27th December, was with battn. at Gallipoli until invalided to hospital 21st November. Promoted sergeant 3rd January, 1916, gazetted second-lieutenant, 12th March, and transferred as Machine-gun Officer to 60th Battn., crossing with it to France. Transferring to 15th M.G. Coy. 24th March, thence to 14th Coy. 8th September and later 5th M.G. Battn., served at Fleurbaix, Somme, Ypres, where wounded 30th September, Hazebrouck and Villers-Bretonneux. On 6th April, 1918, was taken Prisoner of War to Germany, being repatriated to England, 1st December, and to Australia, 15th May, 1919. Early education at The King''s School.
