Book of Remembrance entry
M.B., Ch.M. : Captain, R.A.M.C., B.E.F., France, Mesopotamia, Italy and R.N. Transport Service. Enlisting 19th March, 1915, and sailing on 22nd, was R.M.O. 80th Artillery Brigade from July, 1915, to April, 1917, at Ypres, Armentieres, the Somme and Hill 60, and later with 53rd Field Ambulance till invalided to England. On recovery served as surgeon on transport "Miltiades "from London to Sydney and in Mesopotamia as M.O. on seven hospital ships till 1918. Was then M.O. hospital ship "Bamora "from Bombay to Port Said and at Base Hospital in Italy, returning on demobilisation. Early education at Sydney Church of England Grammar School. Later at St. Paul's College.
