Book of Remembrance entry

Econ. : Private, 2nd Battn., A.I.F., France. Enlisting 1st November, 1916, and sailing on 9th with 23rd Reinforcements, crossed to France 20th November, 1917, and served at Ypres, Hazebrouck and Strazeele, where wounded and gassed 25th May, 1918, and evacuated to England. Rejoining battn. 17th December, was attached 1st Brigade H.Q. on 23rd but invalided to hospital on 26th, returning to duty 31st January, 1919, and serving till demobilisation. Early education at Casino Grammar School. Later at Teachers'' College.
