D.C.M., B.D.S. : Lieutenant, 2nd Battn., King Edward's Horse, Tank Corps and R.A.F., B.E.F., France. Enlisting in England in April, 1915, served with King Edward''s Horse in France, where awarded D.C.M. Commissioned 27th June, 1917, and posted to L Battn. Tank Corps, serving in Ypres and Somme sectors. Joining Cadet School R.A.F., was appointed second-lieutenant (observer) 8th November, 1918, serving with 206th, 218th and other squadrons and returning to Australia in 1920.
