Book of Remembrance entry
M.B., Ch.M. : Major, A.A.M.C., A.I.F., Gallipoli, England and France. Enlisting 18th January, 1915, and sailing 13th June, served as R.M.O. 1 2th A.L.H. Regt. till August and then of 16th Battn. till invalided to England from Lemnos in October. Was Officer in Charge of Invaliding, London, from 21st January to 2nd May, 1916. Then returning to Australia, re-embarked 17th October and was posted to 1st Australian Field Ambulance in France 9th December. In May, 1917, was appointed S.M.O., A.I.F. Camp, Rouelles, Havre, serving there until August and returning in December. Promoted major, 17th October, 1916. Early education at Sydney Grammar School. Later at St. Paul's College.
