Book of Remembrance entry
Arts I (e) : Private, 47th Battn. and A.A.M.C., A.I.F., France. Enlisting in August, 1915, and sailing 18th February, 1916, with 31st Battn. reinforcements after being trained as signaller, transferred to 47th on arrival in Egypt and to 14th Australian Field Ambulance, 21st May. Crossing to France, served at Fleurbaix, Somme, Bullecourt, Ypres, Passchendaele and then in the tent section of ambulance till demobilisation. Early education at Sydney High School. Later at Teachers' College.
