Book of Remembrance entry

B.A.; L.C.P. (Lond.), Diploma in Education (W.A.) : Captain, 28th Battn., A.I.F., Gallipoli and France. Enlisting in August, 1914, and sailing 2nd August, 1915, as captain, commanding 3rd Reinforcements, fought on the Peninsula from 12th October as second in command of B Coy. on Lower Cheshire Ridge, assuming command on 19th till evacuation on 12th December. In Egypt was O.C. Brigade Advance Party at Tel-el-Kebir and later on Canal duties. Crossing to France 16th March, 1916, served at Bois Grenier till 10th June, was injured at Rue Dormoire on 16th and evacuated to No. 3 London General Hospital and thence to Australia, arriving 24th December. Early education at Granville South Public and Granville Superior Public Schools. Later at Fort St. Teachers' College.
