LL.B. : Lieutenant, 33rd Battn., A.I.F., France. Attended Officers' School in January, 1915, and was mobilised in June. Enlisting 1st April, 1916, and sailing with battn., 4th May, as second-lieutenant, served continuously at Messines, Passchendaele and the Retreat, where he was O.C. Battn. Signals till gassed at Villers- Bretonneux, 18th April, 1918. Was invalided to Australia 30th October and discharged from No. 4 Australian General Hospital, Randwick, 16th January, 1920. Promoted lieutenant, 1st August, 1916. Pre-War : Lieutenant, A.M.F. Early education at Sydney Grammar School.
