Book of Remembrance entry
B.A., LL.B. : Captain, 56th Battn., A.I.F., France. Enlisting from A.M.F. 13th August, 1915, was re-commissioned in A.I.F. 1st December and, sailing with 15th Reinforcements 4th Battn. n th March, 1916, joined 56th in Egypt in April. Crossing to France 30th June, served at Fleurbaix and the Somme where wounded at Louveral 2nd April, 1917. On recovery rejoined battn. and, although gassed at Corbie in May, 1918, served until demobilisation. Promoted lieutenant, 9th September, 1916; captain, 8th October, 1917. Early education at Sydney Grammar School.
