M.C., M.B., Ch.M. : Captain, A.A.M.C., A.I.F., France. Enlisting in July, 1916, and sailing in November, was at No. 1 Australian General Hospital, Rouen, from January to June, 1917. Then joined 2nd Australian Field Ambulance, being R.M.O. 6th Battn. from August, 1917, to March, 1919, though gassed at Proyart, 23rd August, 1918, and in hospital till November. Awarded M.C. 3rd June, 1919. Early education at Sydney High School.
