Book of Remembrance entry
M.B. : Major, A.A.M.C., A.I.F., Egypt, England and France. Enlisting in April, 1915, and sailing in May with 5th Australian Field Ambulance as M.O. troopship Chilka , was attached to No. 1 Australian General Hospital, Heliopolis, and, after Gallipoli campaign, to 1st and 14th A.F.Ambs. Crossing to England, was R.M.O. 6th Training Battn. and later at No. 3 A.G.H. at Brighton and Abbeville. Late in 1917 was M.O. at a Casualty Clearing Station in Belgium, returning in May, 1918. Promoted major, 12th June, 1917. Early education at New England Grammar School, Armidale.
