Enlisting 2nd August, 1915, and sailing on 16th as staff-sergeant dispenser with No. 1 Australian General Hospital Reinforcements, returned 11th April, 1916. Re-embarking 2nd December, 1916, returned again 8th April, 1917, and was discharged 25th June. Re-Enlisting 10th April, 1918, and sailing 1st May with 1st Australian Field Ambulance Reinforcements, finally returned in February, 1920.
