M.M., B.V.Sc. : Lieutenant, 3rd Battn., A.I.F., Gallipoli and France. Enlisting 8th August, 1914, and sailing 18th October, was present at the Anzac Landing and wounded three times—3rd May, 3rd June and 15th November. Crossing to France in June, 1916, served at Fleurbaix, the Somme, Bullecourt and Ypres, where wounded 12th October and evacuated to hospitals and thence to Australia, arriving 5th July, 1917. Promoted second-lieutenant, 5th August, 1916, and lieutenant, 18th December. Awarded M.M. 21st September, 1916. Mentioned in Despatches. Early education at Mudgee, St. Peter''s and Burwood Public, Fort St. Model and Sydney High Schools. Later at Hurlstone Agricultural High School and Hawkesbury Agricultural College.
