Book of Remembrance entry

Pharmacy : Staff-Sergeant, A.A.M.C., 13th and 45th Battns., A.I.F., Gallipoli and France. Enlisting 4th July, 1915, and sailing 19th August in 7th Reinforcements 13th Battn., joined battn. at Gallipoli and served till the Evacuation. Transferring to 45th in Egypt and crossing to France, fought at Armentieres, Pozieres, Somme and elsewhere till 1917. Then transferred to 12th Australian Field Ambulance as chemist, remaining with it until the end of the War. Early education at Barraba Public and Newcastle High Schools.
