B.A. : Lieutenant, General List (Education Service), and 2nd D.A.C., A.I.F., France. Enlisting in September, 1917, and sailing 1st May, 1918, as bombardier, served with Divisional Ammunition Column from October, at Corps H.Q. from February, 1919, and until demobilisation. Promoted second-lieutenant, 31st January, 1919, and lieutenant, 30th April. Early education at Grafton Public School. Later at Teachers'' College.
