Arts III (Law) : Lieutenant, 19th Battn., A.I.F., France. Enlisting in June, 1915, and sailing as second-lieutenant in March, 1916, joined battn. in France and served continuously till death except for a month in charge of 1st Anzac Entrenching Party. Killed in Action, Pozieres, 26th July, 1916, and buried in Pozieres British Cemetery. Early education at Petersham Public and Sydney Grammar Schools. Apprenticeship in shipping—Second Officer's Certificate, Board of Trade—with a view to specialising in Marine Law.
