B.E., A.M.I.E.Aust. : Engineer-Lieutenant, R.A.N. Enlisting in 1912, served during 1914-15 on H.M.A.S. Australia at New Guinea and Samoa and with 2nd Battle Cruiser Squadron in North Sea. From 1915 to 1919 was on H.M.A.S. Sydney in West Indies and with 2nd Light Cruiser Squadron in North Sea. Early education at The Armidale School.
