Christian Brothers, U.H.S., and S.C.; Ormond; former student of Law; F.R.G.S.; entered Commonwealth Service in British New Guinea, was Assistant Resident Magistrate of Northern Division 1907, Central Division 1908, and Resident Magistrate of Western Division 1910 till enlistment; did much exploration, and his book on "Unexplored New Guinea" was published after his death. 27.12.15, 2/Lt. 60th Btn.; sailed 1.8. 16; Lieut. 1.3.17; France
November 1916- March 1917, then invalided home for three months; returned, took part in the fighting at Passchendaele and Polygon Wood, and died of wounds received at Polygon Wood on 26th December 1917, aet. 29.
