Book of Remembrance entry

M.B., Ch.M. : Lieutenant, 4th Dorsets and R.A.F., India and Egypt. Was rejected for service in Australia in 1916 but accepted in London in November and sent to Inns of Court Officers'' Training Corps, London, whence gazetted second-lieutenant in May, 1917. Served on Baluchistan Frontier, Peshawur and Khyber Pass and, transferring to R.F.C., in India and Egypt. Invalided to England and on recovery sent on special duty to Ireland, whence demobilised in 1919, returning to Australia in July. University Organist and Busby Scholar, 1916. Early education at Hayfield Preparatory and Sydney Grammar Schools.
