Book of Remembrance entry

Med. I l l : Lieutenant, 33rd Battn., A.I.F., France. Enlisting in January, 1916, was appointed lieutenant, 16th March, and, sailing in May, reached Armentieres in November, serving there and at Messines, where wounded 7th July, 1917. Recommended for promotion to captain, but fell before gazettal. Killed in Action, Zonnebeke, 12th October, 1917. Commemorated in the Ypres (Menin Gate) Memorial. Member of S.U. Scouts and commissioned in 26th Infantry, A.M.F. Early education at Mackay State and Townsville Grammar Schools.
