House Surgeon at Great Ormond St. Hospital, London, when war broke out. Commissioned in R.A.M.C., and sailed for France August 1914; promoted Major; acted as Surgeon to 37th Bde. R.F.A., subsequently appointed to hospital work at Havre, and then became a specialist at Etaples, where he was given organisation and direction of a large hospital.
He died suddenly at No. 51 G.H., Etaples, on 4th November 1918, aet. 30.
