Book of Remembrance entry
B.E. : Lieutenant, 1st Anzac Entrenching Battn., A.I.F., France. Enlisting 31st December, 1915, was gazetted second-lieutenant 16th March, 1916, and, sailing with 5th Tunnelling Reinforcements on 15th October, reached France in January, 1917. Joining battn., was attached to 149th and 133rd Field Coys., Royal Engineers, on Somme for ten months, then evacuated to hospital and later transferred to Weymouth. Demobilised in London 28th January, 1918, returning via Canada in October. Early education at Fort St. High School.
